What is Rosé des Riceys wine?
It is an unusual wine with a unique taste. It comes only from vineyards of Riceys. It’s produced only good years. It reaches maturity between 3 and 5 years after harvest. It is an essential reference of Riceys.
It has the flavor of red wine while keeping the freshness of a rosé.
It is obtained by crushing and then macerating whole bunches of Pinot Noir (between 4 and 6 days) to reach the famous “Rosé des Riceys” taste. This taste remains only a short time in the tank and the maceration must be stopped when this specific flavor appears.
Food Pairing
It is a meal wine, it goes perfectly with fish, white meat and mild cheeses (like Chaource).
Tasting Notes
Color: Intense pink, ruby with slightly tinged highlights
Nose: surprising, rich and complex with notes of red berries and spices.
Flavor: Delicate, well balanced combining freshness and finesse with the characteristic taste of red fruits and spices, vanilla notes.
How to serve it?
Best served between 10 and 12°C.
